A Napper's Mug...

11101107nappingmickeyThe subject line on the e-mail that brought this photo read, "It's tough being cute."

Well, my goodness, there you have it. The perfect summation for this face.

Obviously, this is a cat worthy of spotlighting in our regular weekend feature, "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie & Napping Cats Nap."

It is as clear as the nose on his face that this cat has mastered the art of napping. That is, so obviously, a napper's face.

Well, let's just call it a "Napper's Mug" and suggest that, indeed, it would look good on a coffee mug. Someone get in touch with marketing.

Who is this cat? We get the answer from Pat DeWald.

"This is Mickey, my 4-year-old rescued Exotic Shorthair. As you can see, he can nap and keep and eye on things at the same time. He lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla."

It is apparent that napping cats have authority over slumber in many states and principalities.

(Perhaps your cat or dog or gecko or grizzly strikes a cute pose when in full slumber -- snap that photo and send it to us at dallrp@aol.com. Include information about the animal and about yourself so we can tell the world of insomniacs that there is hope for us all. At Readlarrypowell.com, we honor sleepers, nappers, dozers, slumberers and all beings who can nod off and not feel shame because of their gift.)
