THIS IS DUNCAN: What we have here is an afternoon rally on behalf of a dog who is scheduled, maybe, to be put to sleep Thursday morning.
I've gotten a couple of e-mails that were handed around and wound up at Readlarrypowell.com without any contact point, without saying which shelter the dog is in and with one attached e-mail saying his PTS date is Nov. 4 and another saying it’s Oct. 29.
If this dog gets saved, you can mark it down as another success for guardian angels.

We've gotten some e-mails after posting this that say Duncan is at the Arlington Animal shelter where he is known as "Barkley," one says. Click HERE, they advise. I'm still not sure, but just to cover all the bases, there's that info.

Whatever the case, this dog Duncan, a Golden/Bernese Mountain Dog mix, is in need of rescuing – he’s on the clock at some area shelter, possibly Arlington Animal Services based on what might be interpreted as a clue by Sherlock Holmes.
He may be 2 or 3 years old. He weighs 65 pounds.
And if anyone can tell me where he is, then we can maybe get him adopted or rescued.
Please, join me in the frustration of trying to save a dog but not having the complete information to help him. I’m a pretty tenacious reporter, but I am stumped by this one. Maybe someone will recognize him. I’ll update this soon as we have some info.
This is as frustrating as getting e-mails regarding situations that have been resolved for weeks. Good-hearted people act before thinking. I love ‘em, but they’re grinding my canines down to nubs.
Frankly, I hope I'm not getting answers to my questions because the people who might have the answers are busy somewhere pulling this dog out of the mystery shelter. That would be great. In the meantime:
Save Duncan. If you can find him.
