The camera can catch a moment in time and sometimes that split second is all it takes to earn a spot in our weekend feature, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie & Napping Cats Nap.
Denise Wilson snapped this photo back in early Autumn – when there was still some summer heat in the air.
The humans had returned to their East Texas home after participating in a 5K charity walk benefiting an adoption/foster program for Child Protective Services..
Denise had just taken a shower and was coming back downstairs when she spotted this Slumber Tableau on the living room couch.
She says she "caught" her husband Shawn, their Aussie Forrest and “tiny Biscuit,” their 14-year-old Chihuahua “all piled up on each other snoozing away. I thought it was such a great photo, I couldn’t resist.”
Forrest is a rescue – Denise found him two years ago when he was a tiny puppy who couldn’t walk. It’s obvious now that Forrest not only has learned to walk, but he also knows the proper use of a couch. Just pile up and snooze.
(To nominate your sleeping critters or spouse or deadbeat relative for “Let Sleeping Dogs Lie & Napping Cats Nap,” send the photos and the info to dallrp@aol.com. Remember, at Readlarrypowell.com, insomnia is our prevailing condition so any time we can find one sleeper, one napper or a pile of 'em, we’re proud to publicize them. It helps us live with the hope that we, too, someday will enjoy a good night’s sleep.)
