Here we go with some afternoon updates and needs on the 22nd.SHEP IS ON THE LAM: This dog is Shep. He’s a runner. We learned about his current plight from Sally Hoover, one of our longtime tipsters and a veteran rescuer.
He’d just been adopted from Before the Bridge Rescue on Sunday. And, according to a note from the rescue group’s Marsha Fleming, Shep might be somewhere around Legacy or Custer Roads in Plano. Sally says “We think he might be in Plano around Legacy or Custer road. He was originally found in a culvert in Garland, so maybe had has found another culvert.”
He’s microchipped. Here’s the deal. He’d just been for a run with his new folks and the front door of his new home on Spanish Trail was open while they dried him off. As soon as the leash was off, Shep bolted out into the strange neighborhood.
The guy chased him on foot for two miles before the dog wore him out.
Shep could still be in the area. He could be in a shelter. He could still be moving.
There is a reward. He’s a loving dog when he’s not on the run, his fans say.

Dogmother of West Dallas” and “the Fairy Dogmother of Oak Cliff.” Her territory may have expanded through the years outside of West Dallas.
Never mind geography, we’ve got dogs to cite.
Maeleska says Angie “needs to find a home for these three Terrier mixes. They all are current on shots, spayed; the white ones are 3years old with blue eyes and the other is 5 years old Beagle/terrier mix.”Now you animal people, I’m going to warn you not to get your hackles up when you read the rest of this note.
“They were housebroken before the husband tied them up outside. They must be out by Friday. Should they go to the city we will probably have to get them anyway. Let's try to avoid them going through that terror.”
If you have room for one or all of the dogs, e-mail Maeleska at info@lfhanimalalert.org.
CONTEMPLATION: Surely there’s ONE good spot to list lost critters so that all humans know to go there to list when they’ve lost one and to see when they’ve found one. Right now there must be a half-dozen online lost-and-found spots but why not just ONE. Wouldn’t that make sense? Oh, look at me. Foolishly asking for something that makes sense in the world of animal rescue.
