Our buddy, spectacular golfer, keen technowriter, excellent hardworking colleague and all-round swell guy Doug Bedell has created a discussion board for folks who were cut loose on the sea of life by the Great Media Ship. Oh, yeah, Doug's one of us, too.
(From the corporate side, it was spun as a critical reduction in force, but from the reduced side it felt like the Great Newspaper Massacre of 2004. In analyzing this "business model," I think I remember hearing something like it before way back in the 1960s: "We had to destroy that village to save it." So, my fellow ex-DMNers, we'll all simply be spectators to The 21st Century's Great Newspaper Experiment. That may not be all bad.)
Anyway, Doug's theory is that if all the ex-DMNers see how the other ex-DMNers are coping, it might just help us all cope. Coping begets coping. I think it's Biblical. And that's appropriate, seeing as how the situation calls for a certain amount of damnation in the hereafter.

Remember, be as polite as you feel is appropriate. Be as kind as you think is necessary.
And be thankful you don't have to adjust to the time change Monday morning. Ah, the silver lining in this dark cloud on our lives. Hug your kids and your spouses and loved ones and pets -- they matter.
