Well, of course, here at Readlarrypowell.com we are enamored of any "moment of cuteness."
That is the phrase Wendy Pfau used when sending this photo to our tipster and longtime rescue supporter Cathie Desell.
The "moment of cuteness" is the reason we've chosen Katie and her human, Sierra, to be in the spotlight of this weekend's Let Sleeping Dogs Lie and Napping Cats Nap. And, if we had to guess, we'd figure that this pair started out watching TV together and one of them is still watching while the other was completely zonked until someone snuck up with a camera.
Cathie wrote, "Here is a cute entry for 'sleeping critters' although I am not sure Sierra qualifies as a critter! She is the cute 51/2-year-old enjoying a restful moment with Katie, the family's 2-year-old Chocolate Lab.
"Sierra Merritt is (one of) my sister's granddaughters and lives with her older sister and parents in Clovis, N.M. Both parents are in the service and have lived in such diverse places as Alaska, Florida and now New Mexico. Alan, the dad, has also served in Afghanistan."
And, there you have it, a "moment of cuteness." I'll bet it's not the only moment with this pair. They look like their pretty tight pals, don't they? We're proud to show off a "moment of cuteness" that demonstrates how little girls and big ol' dawgs can be the best of friends.
(To nominate your sleeping critters and kids or critters and other critters, or critters and you, send the photo or photos and information to dallrp@aol.com . At Readlarrypowell.com, we celebrate people and critters who are familiar with sleep because it is a stranger to us. Insomniacs -- we're sleep-deprived but never to drowsy to suddenly be completely awake.)
