Just before noon, the State Fair of Texas announced the 2010 theme as “Super Sized Fun.” The fair will run Sept. 24-Oct. 17.
Here’s the big poster. And you can read all about it by going to www.bigtex.com and clicking on the news tab.
As Fair fans know, the midway already has a super-sized cowboy, 52-foot-tall Big Tex. The Fair is also building a giant greenhouse. And you can’t wander the place at fair-time without being tempted to super-size yourself on corny dogs, fried lord-knows-what, etc.
And, courtesy of the State Fair of Texas’ PR department, there’s some autumn for you as winter draws to a close.
In the meantime, remember that Fair Park, where the big fair is held, is a city park and you can visit it at nearly any time. Also, in case you wondered, there are a number of animal rescuers who work in offices in Fair Park and keep an eye on the critters who wander through there. And, don’t forget, it’ll host TWO Dog Bowls At the Cotton Bowl this year – one on April 6, one on June 11.
