Dear Readers,
As Larry Powell's spouse I have witnessed him laboring over this web site for ten years. I have often wondered what it would take to get him to take some time off. It turns out that what it takes is a brain tumor.
On Oct. 22, the brilliant UT Southwestern neurosurgeon Dr. Bruce Mickey and the brilliant otolaryngologist Dr. Barbara Schultz successfully removed a benign tumor from Larry's pituitary cavity (which is located behind the nose and eyes).
Larry is recovering. We will be singing the praises of the skull base surgical team and staff at UT Southwestern for a long time to come.
Prayers are appreciated. Other than that, we are well cared for. As they used to say when there were newspapers, "Watch this space." Larry will return.
Martha
