This note arrived after 9 p.m. Sunday and it’s too urgent to let it wait until morning.
And, yes, some prayers from sympathetic animal people would be appropriate.
This is Squeak, a blind cat. His human, Bethany Herrera tells of trying to find him in the Midway Hollow area of Northwest Dallas.
Here is the note from Bethany: “Our cat Squeak has been missing for three days now, since the night of Thursday the 26th. We've done all the things for finding lost cats, and have posted and distributed flyers and talked to everyone we see in the neighborhood. We have contacted DAS and area shelters, and have posted on NextDoor and our Midway Hollow Facebook page. When I wrote to Linda at Paws for Texas, she suggested that I send you a message.
“We rescued Squeak and his twin brother Sammy as orphaned ferals at 2-3 weeks of age, the only survivors of their litter. Both are blind, and they are bonded even more strongly than most cat siblings. Sammy is lost without him, and has been sitting like an old man cat since Squeak has been gone.
“Squeak is a black domestic shorthair, 3 years old, weighs 10-11 pounds, and is healthy except that he is totally blind, with only rudimentary eye tissue. He has no collar, but he is registered with Home Again. His chip number is 985112004237612.
“He was last seen Thursday night near the back door of our home, near the corner of Mixon Drive and Hawick Lane, 75220. We are assuming that Squeak got out into the yard and slipped into the alley through a crack in the back gate. Once he got out of our yard, he might as well have been on the moon.”
If you have seen Squeak or know his whereabouts, call 214-801-6462 or email [email protected].
[LARRY NOTE: This is a situation that grinds the heart. More eyes looking for Squeak will help. Bless his heart and keep him safe until he’s back into his home with Sammy and his humans.]
