“Ria is on the MOST CRITICAL list. Our shelter is 100% full. This is really, really scary. This poor girl never has had a chance at a decent life.” —
Mesquite Animal Shelter volunteer biographer Judy Brown.
A SATURDAY EXTRA EDITION [PetPowellPress] — As you can see from the photos, the 7-pound, too thin at 44 pounds dog, “has either very recently had a litter or has been over-bred or possibly both,” Judi wrote.
And this is quite the urgent appeal for a dog who has captured some hearts but not a home or rescue.
Ria first caught our eye about three weeks ago — she’d been
dumped at Mesquite Animal Shelter on March 12 “for financial reasons,” Judi wrote.
The clock has been ticking right along as people have ignored Ria or said “so sad” and moved on to save others.
But there may be hope. Ria may survive if she can get a two-week foster so she can simply live long enough to get to, Judi writes, "an adopter in Kentucky who would love to have Ria but cannot take her for two weeks.”
There are financial pledges to support caring for Ria (#40703656).
Judi says, “It was difficult to get good pictures of her because she stuck so close to me. She just looks up at you with adoring eyes and wants so badly to be loved on.”
