ONE MORNING IN TEXAS...

EDITION OF WEDNESDAY, MAY 26, 2022 [PetPowellPress] We’re taking most of the day off to contemplate the way the world is working out these days.
On the other side of the world, children are being killed by war.
On our side of the world, they’re being killed by neighbors, strangers, wrong-way drivers and the blinding power of a misguided mind.
At our website, we focus on people helping animals. We know for a fact that good hearts and minds exist. We see them at work daily. It is comforting to know that such good souls exist. 
And we celebrate the planet’s many good hearts today. 
For the moment, we’re going to hold onto a comforting office cat named William Powell rather than a computer keyboard and we’re going to fall back on our childhood ways and do some sincere praying for little kids and their loved ones.
I figure I’m not alone in these “sickened-once-again-sensations.” I think I might just dust off one of my Lapsed Baptist Boy Prayers on behalf of the loving people who are unable to move into their day without first fighting through this all-to-familiar sadness.
Protect the children. And, yes, heal those who are suffering from hidden curses that make them act out in horrible ways. 
Yeah, I’m not licensed to preach or certified to counsel. But, I’ve been around. Seen some stuff. Spent decades in the news-gathering business — I learned at an early reporter age that it can be an ugly world now and then, but you can always find beautiful people with benevolent hearts.
