EDITION OF WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY MAY 29-30, 2024 [PetPowellPress] Based on our incoming e-mail, we’re going to suggest that the out-of-order Dallas electric system is affecting the communication abilities of our beloved animal tipsters. But, I spotted this photo and appeal on the Facebook page belonging to veteran animal advocate Mary Fambrough. [Thank you, Mary, for spotlighting this on-the-clock dog!]
Here’s how Mary’s post read:
“WIŁŁ BE EUTHANIZED 5/30
HE ŁOOKS SO HEARTBROKEN
"DOG FRIENDŁY HE GOES TO PŁAYGROUP !! His face is so damn sad :
“DEADLINE THURSDAY, 5/30 at 11:00 AM
ADOPT/RESCUE - PRE-LAB - SPACE.”
That’s Dallas shelter talk for waiting for the needle because the shelter’s out of room.
Who is this dog? Thanks to Mary’s post this is what we know:
Django (A1215676) 5 years old male. 54-60 pounds.Heartworm Negative.”
And here’s a link to adopting him, but for some reason, the link hasn’t been working.

Might be a power failure. Keep trying it if you can’t just go to Dallas Animal Services at I-30 and Westmoreland and do a first-person saving of this fellow.
According to Mary’s posting, Django is “Owner surrendered for financial reasons on 5/25/ Dallas Animal Services … To adopt: email [email protected] and go to the shelter at 1818 N. Westmoreland.
To foster: [email protected] (**must be local to the DFW area**) Rescue tag: [email protected]

CONTEMPLATIONS
DJANGO’S FACE GOT TO ME
Ok, here’s a confession. I get really mad when I see dogs that are dumped in crowded shelters. I’m not alone.
But I prefer to think that love is the driving force to save dogs and cats. I am ashamed that wanting to poke some dumbass right in the nose might be my motivation. But this dog Django — well, I might punch somebody, then pray for the forgiveness of both of us -- me (a veteran sinner) and the jerk who dumped this dog.
I know the dog would forgive the flawed humans, but I’m pretty sure it is Someone Else’s forgiveness we should be interested in. I am ashamed I’m even thinking of this "gimme one good punch at that mug" — I just want this dog to live. I want ‘em all to live. Dogs and cats. Humans have to stand up for them. Even in ultra-sophisticated Dallas, Texas, the city with an airport named "Love" and a death-rate that is astronomical at the city shelter.
Like so many of you, we’re already at the legal limit for animals in our home — have been for years and years. So I’m hoping to influence someone to beat the needle to hugging this dog’s Django’s neck. A human hug would be so much more appropriate on 5/30. Somebody save that dog. Become the person who helps his eyes smile. Maybe yours will smile, too.
Son of a gun. Somebody help this dog. Help THESE DOGS AND CATS. Hundreds of them await the needle thanks to Dallas and the attitudes of its residents.
HERE ARE SOME OF THE DOG FACES AT DAS. There are hundreds more -- dogs and cats. Taxpayers pay people to kill animals. How sad is that.
— SAVE ‘EM ALL and tell us how to pull that off at ‘comment” below or email [email protected]. —-
